Three Cheap Gamepads for Linux from Amazon.de (Europe)

I had an Xbox 360 controller for a while and got two other wired models for playing SuperTuxKart with people.

Techsolo TG-30 Gamepad (Linux-compatible, USB)

Techsolo TG-30 Gamepad

Techsolo TG-30 Gamepad (~13 EUR) If you don’t need force feedback, I can only recommend this one. It even feels a little more solid than the Xbox 360 controller.

2-Tech SNES Style Gamepad

2-Tech SNES Style Gamepad

2-Tech SNES Style Gamepad (~6.50 EUR) Bad. When pressing the buttons, d-pad or shoulder buttons, I can’t feel whether or not they are pressed. Do not buy.

Snakebyte Wireless Controller + PS3 Dualshock3 Sixaxis Top

Left: Snakebyte Wireless, Right: PS3 Dualshock3

Another model that I do not recommend is the Snakebyte Wireless Controller, which I didn’t manage to get to work in wireless mode.

I cannot find these or anything similar on amazon.COM. I suppose there were some painful lawsuits regarding game controller design or perhaps Amazon USA is being friendly with Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo for other reasons. They seem to be available in the UK.

Do you have any recommendations on (cheap) game controllers that work well under Linux?

Coolness, you are a righteous dude – I’ve been thinking about getting something like this for super meat-boy :)
